What I do here
I build and run AURAWELLNESS.fit: the calculators, the guides, the exercise how-tos, the reference charts, and the free tracking app. I write and edit everything published on the site, and I am the person who answers the contact email.
My background is in software, not medicine. I started this site because most free health calculators online hand you a number with no explanation of where it came from, how accurate it is, or when it does not apply — and because the surrounding articles are usually padded, unsourced, and written to rank rather than to be read.
What I am not
I am not a doctor, a registered dietitian, a physiotherapist, or a licensed health professional of any kind. I hold no clinical qualification, and nothing on this site should be read as though I do.
I mention this prominently because an earlier version of this site published articles under invented medical bylines — fictional doctors with fabricated credentials. I removed all of it in July 2026. It should never have been there, and the honest correction is to put my actual name and actual limitations on the work instead.
How I try to make up for that
By being a careful reporter of other people's expertise rather than pretending to my own. Every formula is named and attributed to the researchers who published it. Health claims are sourced to the WHO, the NIH, the NHS, ACOG, the AHA, the ACSM, or to peer-reviewed literature, and those sources are linked at the foot of the page so you can check them.
By writing down the limits. Every calculator page says what its formula cannot tell you and who it does not apply to. Where the evidence is weak or contested, the page says that instead of rounding up to a confident answer.
And by fixing things quickly when they are wrong. If you find an error, email me and it gets dealt with before anything else.
How the site is built
I build and run this myself. The calculators are plain JavaScript that runs entirely in your browser — nothing you type into them is sent anywhere, stored, or logged. There is no tracking on the content pages beyond what advertising requires, no email capture, and no sign-up wall in front of anything.
Every outbound citation on the site is checked automatically before each deploy to confirm it still resolves. A dead or redirected reference is treated as a defect rather than left to rot, which is a small thing that most sites do not bother with and which I think matters if you are asking people to verify your claims.
Contact
You can reach me at aurawellness.fit@gmail.com. Corrections and challenges to something I have written are genuinely welcome and get dealt with before anything else in the inbox — see the editorial policy for how those are handled. If you think something here is wrong, please tell me.
